MIDIDIOM (pronounced Midi Idiom) is a program that takes an existing midi file and generates a new song while not affecting the structure of the song. It may be helpful in creating a song that is similar to a particular song that you like. Download your favorite midi file from the internet and it will be altered into something new while preserving the structure of the song. Just overwrite the existing program files with updates. Hit the HELP button for information on registering the program.

If you are a registered user you can use these 16,881 seven letter words for ideas for the MY_WORDS Button. (16,881 words X 24 different scales = 405,144 possible combinations to try!) If you find a word that works well I encourage you to send it to me at sunyside@roadrunner.com and I may include it in the next SHIFT LIST update. Include what keys the WORD works best in for both the Major and Minor scales. For instance if the key of the song is C Major but your WORD works well in G minor, then include the info "Major key 5 Minor". If the key of the song is C Minor but your word works well in D# Major then include the info "Minor Key 3 Major". Also if you do not mind submitting your name I will be including in the SHIFT LIST the info about the WORD and who submitted it. This also applies to any SCALES that you make using the MY_SCALES Button.
This is a free program (not written by me) that will turn your midi files into .wav files using .wav files as instruments. You can use any .wav file as an instrument ! That way you are not limited to the synth inside your sound card.
Sometimes depending on how you are using MIDIDIOM you can end up with some duplicate notes. This is a free program (not written by me) that will delete any unwanted duplicate notes from you midi file.
